About Me

Raced in Junior National then Senior Britain from 1979 until 1984.

First kart was a Blow/Sietta, then Zip Euro/Komet K88

100 Britain - Barlotti/Arrow, Zip 981/Arrow, 1 Race in a Kestal/Arrow

Midland Champion, South West Champion, Wessex Champion, Kartmaster '84 Winner, Welsh Champion

5th in Super One

Raced cars (FF1600, F. Renault, F3, Renault Clio 16v, Sports Prototype Series, 1984-2001.

Son now racing in Junior TKM, mainly at Rowrah.

Currently rebuilding an Upton Manx engine and looking for an early 1980's chassis, preferably a Zip 981/982, a 1979/'80 Barlotti or a Kestral.  Planning to join you at Rowarah in 2017!

Finally finished the chassis. I think it's an FX1 rather than ZX1 looking at the promotional material from 1985. Found a couple of Parilla's, a TT27 and a TT31 and ran them in at Rowrah last Friday, so now able to commit to the July weekend.

I started a thread on the BHKC page on FB asking if anyone new what the kart was and was informed by Diane Catchpole it was an Zip ZX1 1985

Had been looking at that kart on Ebay,but decided to leave it as already got 4 karts, hope you get it sorted for Rowrah next year (Was told it was an 1982)

Good news, have found a Zip 981. Restoration project and yet to see it in the flesh, but at least it's a start. Photos to follow as the rebuild gets underway.

Hello all

No chassis yet, just an Upton Manx currently in bits. Looking for a Zip 981, Barlotti or Sisley Kestral from the early 1980's if anyone knows of one.

Hopefully be out at next year's Rowarh event with any luck
